Greetings all, I’m here again with another post. It’ll be a little shorter this time, as I unfortunately, like last update, haven’t made a large amount of actual playable progress. Getting things moving is taking longer than expected as I’m learning Java as I go. Sometimes, it feels as if when I solve one issue, I create several more…
This upcoming month, I should have enough of the engine finished to actually start working on gameplay that I’m more comfortable with showing off. I’ve been pouring several hours into this project, but there’s just so much to do with so little time. Due to recent life decisions, I might in the future, have more time to actually work on this game. Hopefully, the new amount of free time will get the ball rolling. The game is split into 10 chapters, each spanning an hour long, I believe chapter 1 will be completed by the end of summer, I’ll be working hard towards it…!
…Important Announcement
I’m planning on, or by, Christmas of this year, to make a new update for Squid’s Manslaughter that’ll fix some of the bugs that were brought to my attention, not only that, but I’ll be releasing a pretty extensive players guide along with the update. It’ll have new art and information on how to beat Squid’s Manslaughter, it will be paid, but will be quite cheap. It’ll discuss some of the more cryptic aspects and secrets of the game that I don’t think many would find on a surface level.
I’d love to have a physical paperback version of this guide, I looked into it, but it’s pricy to publish something like that. It’ll probably be published on Itch.io as well as a few other sites, it’ll be released in HTML, PDF, and EPUB for ease of access. Believe me, with the amount of new content and information I plan to add, it’ll be worth checking out…! Who knows, you might learn a thing or two…
